This week was a crazy one!
One of our investigators, Diane, needed some extra help. So we decided to have a lesson with the Elders in the Chapel in front of the baptismal font. Of course we had to go first to fill the font... And of course our key wasn't working! After about 30 minutes of trying (because missionaries don't give up!) the key finally worked and we entered the church! Next came the baptismal font... and of course... the key for the font wasn't working... so we opened the double door with the glass railing in front where people watch the baptisms. With the determination of the Elders we were able to turn on the font and they were able to jump over the railing! ha ha but... when we began to fill the font... it didn't just fill with water... but with leaches! After cleaning out the leaches, we were in business. The lesson went really well and her testimony was really strengthened. It taught me to never give up! All the forces of the universe may work against you... but if you have Heavenly Father on your side, we will always end up on top.
We are teaching a lot of people! Eight of our investigators had chosen a date for their baptism. They were preparing to be baptized on the 25th. We taught and followed up every single day. Reminding them about church every day with ways that I had never thought of using before. Sunday morning we stopped by each one of their houses on foot to remind them. Not a single one had remembered. So we squared our chins... and returned with a member in her car to pick them up at 10:00. They had all left there homes and were no where to be found.
We arrived in Sunday School discouraged and sad. At the edge of tears, I noticed two new faces in Sunday School. I introduced my self to Diane and Vagnir. They were visiting to see the Primary sing in sacrament meeting. And they wanted to know more about the church. They are married and are family of one of our members. We are going to family home evening with them tonight!
Heavenly Father has a purpose and a plan for us. Sometimes it isn't exactly what we planned, but it is always better! Lets pray that Diane and Vagnir will gain a testimony of their savior, Jesus Christ!
I love you all! have a wonderful week!
